Senator David Perdue Votes To Confirm New Budget Director, Congressman Mick Mulvaney

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA), a member of the Senate Budget Committee, today voted to confirm Congressman Mick Mulvaney (R-SC-05) as Director of the Office of Budget and Management:

“With nearly $20 trillion in debt, folks can no longer be just defense hawks or just debt hawks because the debt is one of the greatest threats to our national security. Congressman Mulvaney gets this, and he has spent years studying our country’s finances and pushing Congress to cut excess spending, even if it was not the popular thing to do in Washington. He is committed to cutting waste, eliminating redundant programs, and tackling our country’s fiscal problems head on, and I look forward to working with Congressman Mulvaney and President Trump to bring some common-sense to our country’s finances.”
