“Ambassador Barbara Barrett is the leader we need to propel the U.S. Air Force into the 21st Century,” said Senator Perdue. “Ambassador Barrett is a well-respected aeronautics expert with years of international business experience. We discussed several of our shared priorities, including the Advanced Battle Management System and U.S. Space Force. Without a doubt, Ambassador Barrett’s experience as both a pilot and astronaut will be a tremendous asset to the Department of Defense as we work to develop our capabilities and counter global threats. I am confident Ambassador Barrett will do an excellent job leading the Air Force, and she has my full support.”
When Senator Perdue was elected, he was the only Fortune 500 CEO in Congress. He is serving his first term in the United States Senate, where he represents Georgia on the Armed Services, Banking, Budget, and Agriculture Committees.
