“Groups like the Augusta Exchange Club have helped lay the groundwork for the incredible economic growth Augusta is experiencing today,” said Senator Perdue. “I could not be more proud of how this community has united behind cybersecurity education, training, and research. With their support, Augusta has established itself as the nation’s cyber capital and is helping our military respond to a rapidly emerging threat. I personally want to thank President Philip Kelly and the entire Exchange Club for welcoming me and for nearly 100 years of exemplary service to the community.”

“This is the 97th year of the Exchange Club of Augusta. Our 215 members were proud and honored to have Senator David Perdue back in Augusta speaking to us,” said Philip Kelly, President of the Exchange Club of Augusta. “Senator Perdue’s success in the business community gives us a voice in Washington that resonates with our membership. Fort Gordon, and Augusta University, now merged with the Medical College of Georgia, are two key parts of Augusta that Senator Perdue is strongly supportive of and key components of Augusta’s economic growth. Our City of Augusta is very fortunate to have Senator Perdue representing us as our United States Senator.”

When Senator Perdue was elected, he was the only Fortune 500 CEO in Congress. He is serving his first term in the United States Senate, where he represents Georgia on the Armed Services, Banking, Budget, and Agriculture Committees.
