“Intellectual property has a significant impact on a country’s economic competitiveness.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA) comments on President Trump’s directive to investigate China’s intellectual property laws to determine their impact on U.S. commerce:
“I fully support President Trump’s efforts to protect America’s interests and engage our largest trade partner, China, on issues like intellectual property. Having lived and worked in Asia, I understand the importance of protecting intellectual property rights wherever they originate. Intellectual property has a significant impact on a country’s economic competitiveness. Ultimately, this action is in the best interest of both countries and the international community.”
Senator Perdue is the only Fortune 500 CEO in Congress and is serving his first term in the United States Senate, where he represents Georgia on the Armed Services, Banking, Budget, and Agriculture Committees.
