“Today, the world is more dangerous than any time in my lifetime,” said Senator Perdue. “After eight years of disinvestment under the Obama Administration, we are focusing on readiness, recapitalization, and rationalization to rebuild our military capability. Georgia is home to nine military installations, including Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Cobb County, that have some of the most cutting-edge developments in our military. As we develop the defense technologies of the future, it is clear that Georgia will continue to be the backbone of our national defense. It was an honor to join President Sharon Mason and the entire Cobb County Chamber in honoring our women and men in uniform who serve in Georgia and across the globe.”
“We were honored Senator Perdue joined us today as our keynote speaker for our 67th annual Atlanta Regional Military Affairs Council Military Appreciation Luncheon to honor our brave men and women who protect us each day,” said Sharon Mason, President and CEO, Cobb Chamber of Commerce. “I want to thank Senator Perdue and his staff for their continued focus, dedication, and active role they have played to support and protect Dobbins Air Reserve Base and all Georgia’s military bases, which are all major assets to our state and country.”
When Senator Perdue was elected, he was the only Fortune 500 CEO in Congress. He is serving his first term in the United States Senate, where he represents Georgia on the Armed Services, Banking, Budget, and Agriculture Committees.
