“Our special forces and intel community took out the founder of ISIS, the number one terrorist in the world.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA) joined Bret Baier on Fox News’ “Special Report” to discuss the death of top ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, continued economic success under the Trump Administration, and the U.S. House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry.

Eliminating The World’s Top Terrorist: “Yesterday was a great day for America and the world. Our special forces and intel community, with our partners, took out the founder of ISIS, the number one terrorist in the world.”

The World Is Safer Today: “Al-Baghdadi is the guy who put 21 people in jumpsuits on a beach in Libya and beheaded them. He’s the guy who poured gasoline on a captured Jordanian pilot in a cage and lit him up. He’s also the guy who killed thousands of Christians and Muslims alike in Iraq and Syria. This was a great day for America, and I applaud the President, our special forces, and our Defense Department for making this happen.”

Defeating ISIS: “We are in the Middle East to defeat ISIS. To do that, we took away their territorial caliphate earlier this year, denied them access to resources, redeployed troops inside Syria, and we just took out their leader and the leading candidate to be his successor. This is a great day for freedom, for America, and for the world.”

Sheer Obstructionism: “This is another example of the sheer obstructionism this president has endured for three years. As a matter of fact, the Washington Post headline on the day President Trump was inaugurated, January 20, 2017, said that the campaign for impeachment of the president has already begun. By calling for this vote, Speaker Pelosi is admitting that the process has been unfair to the president.”

Continued Economic Optimism: “The reason I’m optimistic about this economic turnaround continuing is that consumers still have confidence in the direction we’re heading. There’s plenty of cash in the system, and I’m bullish on the fact that, with immigration, trade, and infrastructure coming, the American people see that President Trump’s agenda is working.”

Fighting For the Country: “Washington is so out of touch. They still have no idea how President Trump got elected. I was elected in the same vein. People in America are upset with the fact that this town is totally dysfunctional and ignores the interests of the rest of the country. President Trump is fighting for the country and getting results. That’s what I hear loud and clear.”

When Senator Perdue was elected, he was the only Fortune 500 CEO in Congress. He is serving his first term in the United States Senate, where he represents Georgia on the Armed Services, Banking, Budget, and Agriculture Committees.
